| How does HB compare to other brands? | | Our drums compare to many brands selling for over twice the price in both quality of workmanship and features. We use 6 Ply 6.5 mm Birch shells that are considered the preferred wood by professionals. We take pride in bringing you the best value in percussion on the market today at our low, factory direct prices. | | I've never purchased an instrument over the internet before. What assurance do I have that I will be happy with my purchase? | | We've got 30 years in the music business behind us and know that customer satisfaction is all important. We offer a 10 day return in new condition but frankly get less than 1% returns. Please check with us if you have questions before ordering | | Do you offer custom orders on special sizes, lug patterns, etc? | | Yes, we do offer prepaid custom order. General production time is about 8-10 weeks for delivery. Our new website also allows you to put together some custom options by ordering individual components. | | When can I expect my order to arrive? | | Generally within 7 days or less anywhere in the continental US. We forward tracking info to you once in transit. | | Where is SurfCity? | | Between Los Angeles and San Diego in beautiful Huntington Beach California,...SurfCity USA | | How can I pay for my purchase? | | All major credit/debit cards, paypal, checks, money orders | | Why should I buy HB Drums? | | Because you will look better and attract the opposite sex to a much greater degree:)...you will also experience the great HB value featuring solid birch shells and quality components and accessories at very reasonable prices | | What is the difference between the Predator and Predator Elite drums? | | Lacquer stained finishes on the Elite versus our wrapped mylar on Predator std. In addition, the Elite offers a matching birch snare drum whereas the std Predator includes a chrome steel snare. Bass drum spurs on Elite are more massive and adjustable | | What are the differences in HB cymbals? | | Student cymbals are practice quality, good for beginners and for practice studios. Starting point for learning cymbal fundamentals. Pro series cymbals are a major step up in both tonal qualities and durability. Pro cymbals incorporate sheet brass as the core element most used in better cymbals. For additional clarity and performance, the pro series are machine hammered to increase tensil strength and durability along with tonal properties. The Pro Red series includes more copper than the Pro Lite series creating a bit mellower tone. | | How is the quality of HB hardware? | | From jr series to our Scepter line up, hardware is durable with quality cast steel in chrome, blac and gold finishes. Our PCH series is included on all sets except jr and Duke series. The PCH series is double braced for durability and of good weight and substance. Boom cymbal stands feature heavy counterweight. Scepter series is designed for touring pros with extremely heavy duty tubular design. Pedal are chain driven for speed and durability. | | How are Birch shell drums ranked compared with other shell woods? | | Birch shells are the most requested wood by professionals as evidenced by several surveys worldwide. Other shells materials may be less costly or more specialized whereas Birch characteristics are superior for both volume and tone. Birch shell drums are used in both the recording studio and live performances. | | What makes the Duke series cost considerably more than the other series? | | HB Dukes have new "floater" series tom rims for superior tone. In addition, Duke sets incorporate the new 18 ply Duke Birch shell snare drum and Scepter series hardware and oil filled drum heads. |
